Happy New Year!

At this point in our lives, we really treasure memories that give us, as I like to say, warm fuzzies. Or perhaps it is routine that give you warm fuzzies. When I get together with friends, it may be the games we play, or the conversation that is the same every time, or just being with one another that can make me warm.

My memory for events has always been dull, so thank goodness I have pictures. Recently, while going through the many boxes of old snapshots I came across pictures of Kyoko (1988), and Nikki Morgan (1989 & 1991) I had taken while visiting my Seattle “home.” (I was living in Rochester, NY.) They brought back so many warm memories of the times we spent in our youth.

Sadly, we lost both Nikki and her brother Mike in 2008. Recently another fellow Viking died, Kathryn Beba. May she, and all our fallen Vikings, rest in peace.

Our Birthday Bash picnic in September gave me warm fuzzies. What a joy to be with old friends, rekindle relationships, and make friends with someone I may have never talked to before. I’ve been asked if we are doing it again this year. IF we do, it will be on a smaller scale. So, stay tuned for updates.

I also get warm fuzzies when we meet for coffee the first Saturday of each month. This month it will be January 8. (Sometimes holidays force us to change.) I get a kick out of listening to stories of our IHS days from people who remember them so well. I’m sure you have a story from long ago, or recently, that needs to be told. So, come, tell your story, or just come to feel warm.

Mark your 2022 calendar for coffee: Jan 8, Feb 5, Mar 5, Apr 2, May 7, June 4, July 2, Aug 6, Sept 3, Oct 1, Nov 5, Dec 3.

 9 am @ Sherry Atterbury’s  4201 NE 75th St, Seattle, WA 98115  206-229-4589 (COVID Vaccines required for everyone’s safety.)

In this New Year I resolve to be kinder, welcoming, and more thankful for friends, family, and mankind. What do you resolve?
